| Cyrus Campbell killed on 24/10/1983 aged 49 | Private Cyrus Campbell was ambushed on his farm (where he lived with his 80yr old mother) at Carricklongfield, near Aughnacloy, Co. Tyrone. He was shot twice in the head in his car as he went to feed cattle. He was commended for his reaction during an attack on his Land Rover in 1972 (during which Henry Gillespie died).Brian Campbell (likely involved in the killing) was later shot dead by the SAS. | Elizabeth Matilda Chambers killed on 07/10/1982 aged 26 | Miss Chambers was killed when she became caught up in a INLA terrorist attack on a off duty member of the Ulster Defence Regiment. The Fred Williamson's and Miss Chambers’ cars collided, resulting in her death. Fred Williamson also died.Officer Chambers joined the Northern Ireland Prison Service in April 1976 and served for over 6 years until her death on 7 October 1982. | Desmond Ernest Irvine killed on 07/10/1977 aged 38 | Shot leaving a meeting of the Prison Officers’ Association of which he was secretary. Shortly before his death, Mr Irvine had taken part in a television programme on life at the Maze Prison. He also had a brother who served in the Prison Service and has now retired. Shot by the IRA at his sister’s home, his wife and daughter and sister were in the house at the time the gunmen killed him, he had previous service with the RUC. Robert was the first Royal Irish Regiment Soldier (HQ Coy, 9th Bn) to be killed by terrorist action. | Maheshkumar Islania killed on 26/10/1989 aged 34 | Shot during gun attack on his family car, Wildenrath, West Germany. His 6 month old daughter (Nivruti Mahesh Islania) was also killed from a single shot during the IRA attack. His wife survived the attack physically uninjured, but in great shock. Mahesh (known to colleagues as Mick) was a Cpl in the RAF (joined in 1974) and had just collected a meal from a takeaway beside a petrol station when 2 men approached on foot, opening fire with automatic weapons. He was one of two dog handlers, the other was wounded but survived. The gun used by the IRA gunman had been taken from Michael Stone after his atack at Milltown Cemetery (16 Mar 88).
