He was killed when an IRA Mark 12 horizontal mortar hit his Land Rover shortly before 9:30pm as part of a 2 vehicle patrol travelling from Bellaghy to Portglenone. Joseph Calvin killed on 16/11/1972 aged 42 Off duty. Killed by booby trap bomb attached to his car, in car park, Quay Lane, Enniskillen, County Fermanagh. He was married with a 17 year old daughter. Thomas Gilhooley killed on 05/11/1979 aged 25 Officer Gilhooley joined the Northern Ireland Prison Service in November 1977 and served for two years until his murder by the IRA on 5 November 1979. He was an Officer in Belfast Prison prior to his death. Mr Gilhooley was driving home from Crumlin Road Prison, Belfast, when the attack took place. He was waiting for a break in the traffic when a gunman on the footpath opened fire and shot him. Mr Gilhooley was survived by his wife, who has since died, and two small children. Owen McQuade killed on 11/11/1980 aged 31 Owen was a soldier with the Argyll and Southern Highlanders. He was shot just after 8pm at Altnagelvin Hospital, outside Londonderry as he waited for a colleague whose wife was in the maternity unit. A number of IRA men drove up to his unmarked blue minibus in a red Cortina taxi and opened fire. The taxi had been stolen from it's driver at 7:20pm from the Gobnascale. The taxi driver was released unharmed. He was married with 2 children and was living in married quarters at Ballykelly at the time, but was originally from Glasgow. British Army (BA)

Gerald Francis Melville killed on 23/11/1979 aged 45 Mr Melville was shot at his home, Hightown Road, Glengormley, near Belfast, County Antrim. He was found dead the following morning when colleagues reported he had failed to report for duty. He was survived by his wife and young daughter. Joined the Northern Ireland Prison Service in February 1964 and served for over 15 years until his Murder by the IRA. Prison Officer (PO)

Albert Miles killed on 26/11/1978 aged 50 Murdered when gunmen forced their way into his home (Evelyn Gardens,off Cavehill Road, Belfast) and shot him while restraining his wife. Two men were later convicted of his murder and given life sentences. Joined the Northern Ireland Prison Service in October 1958 and served for over 20 years until his murder by the IRA. He last served in Maze prison as a Governor. Prison Officer (PO)

David Teeney killed on 07/11/1979 aged 25 Mr Teeney joined the Northern Ireland Prison Service in July 1976 and served for over three years until his murder on 7 November 1979. He worked as a Clerk in Belfast Prison prior to his death and was waiting for a bus to take him to work when he was shot by INLA. Mr Teeney, who had been married for a very short time before his murder, was a keen sportsman and committed Christian. Prison Officer (PO)

Ian Warnock killed on 19/11/1992 aged 27 Off duty.Shot while sitting in his stationary car outside his wife's workplace,Moypark factory, Seagoe, Portadown, County Armagh. Shot by the IRA as he waited to collect his wife. His 3 year old son was with him when the gunmen attacked. Stephen Wilson killed on 18/11/1989 aged 23 Stephen was a LCpl in the Parachute regiment. He was one of three killed when a land mine was detonated by the IRA north of Mayobridge. Another soldier who was severely injured survived. Their landrover was near Drumgrath Chapel on the Drumlough Road when the 400kg device exploded. Stephen was from Humberside in Hull. The other soldiers killed were Matthew Marshall and Donald MacAuley. British Army (BA)

Stephen Windsor killed on 06/11/1974 aged 26 Cpl Windsor (Devon and Dorsets, serving with Duke of Edinburgh Royal Regiment) was shot in IRA ambush along with Brian Allen in the centre of Crossmaglen. The (5 to 6) gunmen took over a house in the town square 20 minutes before the shooting. Married with 2 children he was from Honiton, Devon. British Army (BA)
